Client Transformation
This client in Gisborne enquired about their Kikuyu lawn that was riddled with Burr Weed (Soliva sessilis).
Their dog would roll around in it and get thousands of tiny Burrs stuck in its coat.
Because of the deep thatch layer of this lawn, the Burr Weed was living rent-free below the surface, and there would be little hope of using a selective herbicide in this setting.
Our Approach
We started by scalping low to remove bulk material from the thatch layer, followed by thorough grooming with a scarifier to pull out and collect all of the Burrs.
The Result
The client sent us this photo 2 weeks later and said there were no longer any Burrs getting caught in their dog's coat, and not only that, their lawn had never looked better!
